Mahmood Bashir Virk, veteran PML-N leader, dies at 89
Veteran Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leader Mahmood Bashir Virk has passed away at the age of 89. He died in a Lahore hospital following a period of medical treatment.
Virk was a seasoned parliamentarian who served five terms in the National Assembly. His political career included representing constituencies such as NA-77, NA-97, NA-80, and NA-97. Notably, he served as the federal minister for law and justice from January to May 2018. At the time of his passing, he was serving as the chairman of the National Assembly Standing Committee on Law and Justice.
National Assembly Speaker Sardar Ayaz Sadiq had recently visited Virk in the hospital to inquire about his health. Virk's funeral is expected to be held in his ancestral village, Kamu Workan, near Gujranwala.
