Mahmoud Abbas affirms Palestinian rights and calls for Israeli withdrawal from Lebanon
Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas addressed a graduation ceremony for the Mahmoud Abbas Foundation in Lebanon, emphasizing the resilience of the Palestinian people. He stated that despite facing killings, settlement expansion, annexation attempts, and displacement, Palestinians remain committed to their land and national rights in Gaza, the West Bank, Jerusalem, and the diaspora.
Abbas highlighted that investing in education and human empowerment is a vital form of national resistance and identity preservation. He noted that since its establishment in 2010, the foundation has supported over 12,000 graduates, including professionals such as doctors, engineers, and lawyers, with approximately 3,500 students currently enrolled in academic or vocational programs.
Regarding regional stability, Abbas expressed support for Lebanon’s security and sovereignty. He called for the withdrawal of Israeli forces from all occupied Lebanese territories and an end to violations of Lebanese sovereignty.
