Mahmut Arıkan criticizes government operations and political transfers

Saadet Party Chairman Mahmut Arıkan criticized the current government's policies during a traditional picnic event in Istanbul. Arıkan proposed that the Turkish Language Association (TDK) select ‘operation’ and ‘transfer’ as the words of the year, citing their prevalence in recent political discourse.

Arıkan questioned the targeting of political opponents in law enforcement operations, arguing that such actions should serve as a ‘light of justice’ to illuminate crime rather than a tool used exclusively against critics of the government. He also addressed economic concerns, questioning why investigations have not focused on rapid currency fluctuations or the accumulation of wealth through public bank loans during the government's 24-year tenure.

The event was also attended by DEVA Party Chairman Ali Babacan and other party officials.
