Mahmut Esat Bozkurt commemorated in Efes Selçuk

The Efes Selçuk Municipality organized a memorial program and conference to honor Mahmut Esat Bozkurt as part of the October 29 Republic Day celebrations. The event, held at the Selçuk Efes City Memory with support from former Izmir Deputy Bülent Baratalı, included a visit to Bozkurt’s grave.

During the conference, Professor Dr. Hakkı Uyar discussed Bozkurt’s life and his significant role in the Turkish War of Independence and the founding of the Republic. Uyar noted that Bozkurt, a close associate of Atatürk, was a key figure in the Kuvayı Milliye movement after completing his doctorate in Switzerland. He was also highlighted as one of the architects of the legal reforms implemented between 1923 and 1930.
