Turkey implements major high-level government and economic appointments

President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan has issued a series of high-level appointment and dismissal decrees published in the Official Gazette, resulting in significant changes across Turkey's economic and public administration sectors.

In the Ministry of Treasury and Finance, Kutluhan Taşkın, formerly the Deputy President of the Presidency of Strategy and Budget, has been appointed as Deputy Minister. This follows the retirement petition submitted by Deputy Minister Osman Çelik to Minister Mehmet Şimşek.

Major leadership changes occurred in regulatory bodies. Mahmut Sütçü has been removed from his position as Chairman of the Capital Markets Board (SPK), and İbrahim Ömer Gönül has been removed as Chairman of the Public Oversight, Accounting and Auditing Standards Authority (KGK). Additionally, Şinasi Candan has been appointed to lead the Revenue Administration.

The decrees also included extensive personnel changes within the Ministry of Environment, Urbanization and Climate Change, affecting various provincial directorates, as well as appointments within the Forensic Medicine Institute and the Ministry of Family and Social Services.
