Mahón to reorganize traffic for 2026 Snipe World Championship
The 2026 Snipe World Championship will require temporary operational changes at the Moll de Llevant in Mahón. The Club Marítimo de Mahón and the Port Authority of the Balearic Islands are preparing infrastructure to host 88 vessels from 21 countries between September 19 and 26.
A dedicated Boat Park will be established to house the fleet, alongside technical measurement zones and launching ramps. To accommodate these installations, a provisional traffic detour will be implemented at Moll de Llevant from September 10 to 29. While most of the period will allow for continuous circulation, specific road closures will occur to facilitate vessel maneuvers, particularly between the Costa d’en Reynés and the Costa de Corea.
Key scheduled disruptions include: - September 21: Closures for fleet launching (10:00–12:30) and the opening ceremony (16:30–22:30). - September 22–26: Morning closures (08:30–11:00) and afternoon closures (16:00–18:30) during fleet departures and returns. These afternoon times may vary based on weather and race progress.
