Mahua Moitra alleges late-night eviction attempt at Circuit House

Trinamool Congress MP Mahua Moitra has accused the Nadia district administration in West Bengal of attempting to forcibly evict her from the Krishnanagar Circuit House late at night.

Moitra reported that after arriving at the facility around 6:30 PM and being allotted her usual room, she received a phone call from the Additional District Magistrate at 9:47 PM requesting she vacate. This was followed by a formal written order to leave the premises by 10:52 PM.

The MP alleged that the move was a political conspiracy intended to keep opposition leaders away from the constituency. She further claimed that a large crowd had gathered outside the Circuit House chanting ‘Jai Shri Ram’ in an apparent attempt to intimidate her. Moitra stated she refused to back down, referencing a previous Supreme Court experience regarding personal safety.
