Mahulena Bočanová discusses StarDance hosting audition

Actress Mahulena Bočanová has shared insights regarding her history with the dance competition StarDance. She revealed that during the initial casting for the show's first season in 2006, she auditioned for the role of presenter. Although she reportedly impressed representatives from the BBC, who oversee the original format, producers ultimately decided against her for the hosting position.

Bočanová noted that she was considered too "wild" and "temperamental" for the role, as producers felt the host needed to be more "cultivated" and "noble" to complement co-host Marek Eben. This led to the selection of Tereza Kostková. Instead of hosting, Bočanová was offered a position as a contestant, which she accepted and performed alongside professional dancer Jaroslav Kuneš.

In addition to her television history, Bočanová discussed her acting career, noting her preference for playing villainous roles over more traditional positive characters. She also recently participated in a discussion regarding Rudolf Merkner's new book, ‘Případ pražské bestie’ much to her own amusement regarding her frequent casting as a antagonist.
