Mai Da Lang Van and Hang Xom Trai preserve prehistoric Hoa Binh Culture

The archaeological sites of Mai Da Lang Van and Hang Xom Trai serve as significant historical records of the Hoa Binh Culture, preserving traces of prehistoric human life from tens of thousands of years ago.

At Mai Da Lang Van, located in Yen Phu commune, a thick cultural layer of approximately 3.7 meters contains diverse artifacts, including stone tools, bones, and ceramics. The site, originally discovered and excavated by French archaeologist M. Colani in 1929, features a wide entrance and high ceiling, surrounded by a well-preserved forest ecosystem where rare golden monkeys reside.

Hang Xom Trai, situated in Muong Vang commune near the Lan stream, also offers vital insights into early human habitation through its geological and archaeological features.
