Mai Omar confirmed for two Ramadan 2027 drama series

Egyptian actress Mai Omar is set to potentially feature in two major drama series during the Ramadan 2027 season. She has confirmed her participation in the series ‘Ashmawy’, starring Mohamed Ramadan. The production, directed by Peter Mimi and written by Mohamed Ismail Amin, is described as a social thriller centered on the life of an executioner.

In addition to ‘Ashmawy’, Omar is slated to lead the series ‘Halima Gibran’, directed by Mohamed Bakir and written by Mohab Tariq. Despite rumors suggesting the project might be canceled or postponed, director Mohamed Bakir has dismissed these claims, confirming that preparations for the series are ongoing.

If both projects proceed as planned, Omar will participate in a dual appearance during the Ramadan season, following a trend of multiple high-profile roles seen in previous years.
