Mai Omar wins Murex d'Or for Best Egyptian Actress

Egyptian actress Mai Omar has won the Murex d'Or award for Best Egyptian Actress in Drama at the 26th edition of the festival held in Beirut, Lebanon. The award recognizes her performance in the series ‘Al Sett Mona Lisa’.

In her portrayal of the character Mona Lisa, Omar depicted a woman overcoming significant hardships following the death of her parents. The role was noted for its psychological and social depth, following the character's journey from Ismailia to working as a chef in a hotel.

Following the win, Omar expressed her gratitude to her fans and the production team, specifically thanking the MBC network and the creators of the series. She noted that receiving the award for a second time reinforces her belief that hard work and dedication eventually yield recognition.
