Mai Vang Awards 2026 transitions to new organizing agency
The 32nd edition of the Mai Vang Awards in Ho Chi Minh City marks a significant transition in organization. The Ho Chi Minh City Press and Radio and Television Agency has taken over the management of the awards, which were previously associated with Nguoi Lao Dong newspaper since their inception in 1995.
The 2026 season will feature 15 award categories across three main fields: music, cinema/television, and stage. Notably, a new category for 'Promising Singer' has been introduced to support young talent. However, the competition has also seen changes in its structure, with the removal of the 'Comedy Actor' and 'Political Art Program' categories.
Organizers aim to modernize the awards to better adapt to the digital media environment while maintaining transparency and professional standards.
