Maia Sandu calls for unity at National Forum of Ethnic Minorities

Moldovan President Maia Sandu addressed the National Forum of Ethnic Minorities, emphasizing the need for social solidarity and trust among the country's diverse communities. She stated that security threats do not distinguish between citizens based on ethnicity or language, citing recent drone incidents in various localities, including Gagauzia, as evidence that safety concerns are universal.

Sandu described Moldova as the “home of all its citizens,” regardless of linguistic or ethnic background. She argued that cultural and linguistic diversity should serve as a strength rather than a cause for separation. Furthermore, she linked the country's European integration process to the protection of these identities, noting that EU membership offers security and development opportunities while guaranteeing that every community can preserve and promote its own culture.
