Maiden Blood anime announced for 2027 release

The original dark fantasy anime series ‘Maiden Blood’ has been announced for a 2027 release in Japan. Produced by Polygon Pictures, the project is a collaboration between director Seiji Kishi, series compositor Makoto Uezu, and Pony Canyon.

Set in a post-Armageddon world where humanity has been subjugated by demons, the story follows two sisters, Eva and Epica. In this sunless reality, human blood serves as a currency, energy source, and weapon. The plot centers on a technique where the blood of young girls is transformed into weapons to combat demonic forces.

The production features character designs by the illustrator LAM, with music composed by Keiichi Okabe, Kuniyuki Takahashi, and Taichi Joraku. The voice cast includes Iori Saeki as Eva and Yukari Anzai as Epica.
