Maidstone signs midfielder Tariq Uwakwe

Maidstone United has signed 26-year-old midfielder Tariq Uwakwe, adding experience to the National League South side. The London-born, left-footed player joins the club on 4 September 2026 after a period without a team following his departure from Swindon Town.

Uwakwe developed through the Chelsea youth academy, where he won the FA Youth Cup and the English Youth League in consecutive seasons. His professional career includes stints at Crewe Alexandra, Accrington Stanley, Maidenhead United, and Aldershot. He has recorded appearances across League One, League Two, the National League, and various cup competitions, including the FA Cup and EFL Trophy.
