They Follow filming wraps for It Follows sequel

Principal photography for “They Follow”, the sequel to the 2014 cult horror hit “It Follows”, has officially wrapped. The production company Curious Gremlin confirmed the end of filming, moving the project into post-production.

Maika Monroe returns to reprise her lead role as Jay Height. The sequel, written and directed by David Robert Mitchell, is set ten years after the events of the original film. While specific plot details remain confidential, Monroe has indicated the script is “bigger, darker, and more intense,” focusing on a more grounded approach to the characters' mental struggles.

The production features returning key crew members, including cinematographer Mike Gioulakis, editor Julio C. Perez IV, and composer Disasterpeace. The new cast includes Naomi Ackie, Jackie Earle Haley, Michael Gandolfini, Justine Lupe, and Anna Mirodin. While a specific release date has not been finalized, some reports suggest a potential 2027 premiere.
