Maika Yamamoto Leaves Agency Age Promotion, Becomes Freelance

Actress Maika Yamamoto announced on Instagram that she will depart from the talent agency Age Promotion effective 1 August 2026. In her statement she thanked supporters, said her future plans are still undecided, and confirmed she is not considering joining another agency, opting to work as a freelancer.

Yamamoto, who married rock vocalist Hiro of MY FIRST STORY in October 2024, is currently pregnant with her first child. The post hinted she is residing abroad, and her husband’s band announced a hiatus in February 2026, after which Yamamoto faced some online criticism and the deletion of an X account. She appears to be shifting focus toward family life while maintaining a freelance acting career.
