Maike Halbisch wins bronze in high diving at European Championships
Maike Halbisch, a 21-year-old high diver from VfL Waiblingen, secured a bronze medal at the European Championships in Paris. She achieved this by performing a triple-and-a-half back somersault from a handstand, which carried a difficulty rating of 5.0—the highest in the competition.
Halbisch, who transitioned from gymnastics to diving, described the experience as incredible and noted it was her first international medal. She currently balances her athletic pursuits as a hobby alongside her training to become a police chief inspector, having recently been admitted to the police elite sports promotion group.
