Police report various thefts and assaults in Germany and Switzerland

Various criminal incidents have been reported across Germany and Switzerland, ranging from targeted thefts to violent assaults.

In Switzerland, police in Brig arrested a 64-year-old man linked to at least 15 cases of trick theft targeting the elderly. Meanwhile, in Les Breuleux, a masked woman failed in an armed robbery attempt at a post office.

In Germany, several theft patterns have emerged. In Velbert, police warned of a ‘chain trick’ where criminals embrace victims to steal jewelry. In Schwerin, multiple wallets were stolen from supermarkets within a short timeframe. Other reported crimes include the theft of a cigarette machine in Pulheim, cash stolen from a church donation bell in Einhausen, and a series of car wheel thefts in Morbach.

Violent incidents also occurred, including a suspected dangerous assault on a 48-year-old man in Bernau and an armed robbery of a hotel porter in Bonn. Additionally, a burglary in Dittelbrunn resulted in the loss of five-figure sums in cash and jewelry.
