Maine experiences growth in dining and tourism

Maine is experiencing a surge in culinary and tourism activity. Following a period where over 50 restaurants opened by late June 2026, 11 additional establishments launched in July. Notable new openings include The Tin Roof Diner in Dresden, which offers a primarily gluten-free menu, and the expansion of Azul Agave, which is bringing a new Mexican restaurant to Ogunquit.

Further dining developments include the reopening of West African restaurant Me Lon Togo in Rockport by Chef Jordan Benissan, the opening of School Street Market bakery in Stonington, and the selection of Brunswick-based Dutchman’s to compete in the New York BagelFest.

In addition to its growing food scene, Bar Harbor has been recognized by The Anxious Adult as one of the most beautiful towns in America. Located near Acadia National Park, the town is highlighted for its scenic views of Cadillac Mountain, coastal charm, and diverse tourist activities including whale-watching and local dining.
