Maine homeowner finds vintage VHS tape in 1792 house

Sarah Elaine, owner of a historic home built in 1792 in Maine, discovered a vintage VHS tape while exploring the property. The discovery, which gained significant attention on TikTok, initially caused alarm due to the nature of the contents.

While exploring a former servant's quarters, Elaine's brother found the tape inside a cupboard alongside other vintage items, including an old inhaler, photographs from the 1990s, and a hat. The tape was labeled ‘1953 - 1957, scenes from the old house’, which initially prompted fears of a horror movie scenario.

Upon viewing the footage, the contents were revealed to be sentimental family memories and scenes documenting the history of the home and its previous inhabitants rather than anything supernatural. Elaine noted that the tape is being returned to the original family.
