Maine ranked 5th funniest state in U.S. comedy study

Maine has been ranked as the fifth funniest state in America according to a new study by Hard Rock Bet. The state achieved a comedy index score of 49.7, placing it ahead of Massachusetts, Colorado, Texas, and Vermont.

The rankings were determined by analyzing several factors, including the number of comedy shows and venues, the density of notable comedians, and online search trends for topics such as “funny jokes” and “dad jokes.” Specifically, the study noted that Maine offers nearly 10 comedy shows per 100,000 residents and features more than 12 notable comedians per million people. Connecticut was ranked as the top state, followed by New York, Rhode Island, and Nevada.
