A study by Coventry Direct reveals that Original M&M's are the most popular candy flavor in Maine. The research, which analyzed Google search interest for 45 different M&M varieties between May 2025 and May 2026, indicates that residents of Maine prefer the classic chocolate variety over newer options such as caramel, peanut butter, dark chocolate, or caramel cold brew.

While Original M&M's were the top choice in 11 states, making them the second most popular variety nationwide, they differ from the overall United States favorite. Caramel M&M's ranked first nationally, leading in 12 states, followed by Original M&M's and Peanut M&M's, which led in six states.
