Maine offers a network of self‑guided food and drink trails that let visitors sample dozens of small‑batch producers across the state. More than 80 licensed cheesemakers, many of whom have earned international awards, operate on farms and in rural creameries, while the state’s roughly 30 wineries blend imported grapes with cold‑hardy varieties such as Marquette and Frontenac.
