Rising costs for accommodation and ferry travel are driving Greek families toward mainland coastal destinations for their summer vacations. Research into short-term rental availability for August 17–22, 2026, identifies more than 60 coastal destinations in mainland Greece where a family of four can find competitive accommodation rates for a five-night stay.
