Maintal expands all-day childcare with new school facilities
The city of Maintal is expanding all-day childcare capacity for the Wilhelm-Busch-Schule in Dörnigheim. This initiative follows a new legal entitlement to all-day school places that began on August 1, initially targeting first-grade students with plans for future grade expansion.
To accommodate this demand, the city has provided over 100 square meters of renovated office space in the Maintal-Halle. This was made possible by relocating the local water management department to the town hall and utilizing desk-sharing and home-office arrangements within the digitalization department.
In addition to the office spaces, the school can also utilize parts of the Maintal-Halle sports hall. This extra capacity provides flexibility for afternoon programs, particularly while construction work continues on the primary school building itself.
