Maintal implements new traffic concept for Hochstadt Hauptstraße

The city of Maintal is implementing a new traffic concept for the Hauptstraße in Hochstadt to improve safety and organization within the 430-meter traffic-calmed zone. The initiative aims to address ongoing conflicts between modern vehicle volume and the area's historical character, specifically targeting speed limit violations where 15 percent of vehicles exceed the 22 km/h threshold.

The new plan divides the street into three distinct sections. The core area between Ringstraße Süd and Obertor will remain a traffic-calmed zone requiring walking speeds, where all road users share equal rights. The western section between Bischofsheimer Straße/Klosterhofstraße and Ringstraße Süd will be designated as a traffic-calmed business area.
