To prepare garden sets for storage at the end of summer, it is advised to first remove debris like dust and leaves using a broom or vacuum. For wooden items, cleaning with a brush and soapy water, such as black soap or Marseille soap, is recommended, followed by rinsing with clear water. Applying linseed oil or teak oil can provide protection. For plastic or PVC furniture, a damp sponge with dish soap is sufficient for cleaning. It is cautioned against using high-pressure cleaners, as they may damage finishes or joints.
