Mainz 05 signs Austrian defender Stefan Posch permanently

German Bundesliga club 1. FSV Mainz 05 has completed the permanent signing of Austrian international defender Stefan Posch. The 29-year-old joins from Italian Serie A side Como 1907 following a successful loan spell during the second half of the previous season.

Posch, who can play as both a central defender and on the flanks, integrated quickly into the squad. Mainz sporting director Niko Bungert praised the player’s versatility and experience, noting that he has become a key part of the team. Posch expressed his enthusiasm for staying with the club, stating that he felt an immediate connection to the team despite the challenges faced during the winter period.
