Mainz city center to face closures for annual corporate run

The annual corporate run in Mainz, sponsored by the IT company Rocon, is scheduled to take place on Thursday, September 3, 2026. The event is expected to cause significant traffic disruptions in the city center, with road closures beginning at 9:00 AM. Further restrictions on access roads are planned for 5:00 PM, with total closures of final transit routes through the city between 6:00 PM and 8:15 PM.

This year marks the 13th edition of the event, which has seen record-breaking participation. Over 12,100 participants from 670 companies have registered. Major participating groups include the City of Mainz, Universitätsmedizin Mainz, and BioNTech, alongside other organizations such as ZDF and SCHOTT AG. The five-kilometer course winds through the heart of the city center.
