Mainz Finthen Airfield Holds Open‑House and Junkers F13 Flights, Sep 2026

The Mainz/Finthen airfield will host a public open‑house on Saturday 5 September and Sunday 6 September 2026. Admission and parking are free. Visitors can take tower tours, view historic aircraft displays, join a quiz, watch a model‑building competition, and enjoy food trucks and the on‑site restaurant. Activities for children include a flying‑school showcase, a miniature‑airplane race and a construction workshop.

From 4 to 6 September 2026 the Luftfahrtverein Mainz e. V. will also run exclusive sightseeing flights with replica Junkers F13 planes. The reproductions feature modern avionics and a contemporary Stern engine, a heated cabin for three passengers and must‑fly‑conditions depend on wind and weather. Participation requires a 30‑day club membership and advance booking via the association’s website. The ten‑minute flights will circle Mainz and the Rhine Valley, offering views of historic architecture and the landscape.
