Mainz inaugurates new tram connection through Binger Straße

Mainzer Mobilität has officially inaugurated a new tram connection through Binger Straße, linking Hauptbahnhof West to Münsterplatz. The opening included a ceremonial inaugural ride and a public celebration at Münsterplatz involving representatives from politics, administration, and the business sector.

The project also serves as a platform for the ‘Münsterplatz’ pilot project under the ‘Mainz glänzt’ initiative. This initiative, a collaboration between the City of Mainz and Mainzer Mobilität, aims to improve cleanliness and service at high-traffic stops and public spaces.

In conjunction with local events, Mainzer Mobilität is also implementing expanded transit services for the upcoming Mainz Wine Market. To accommodate visitors, special schedules and event tickets will be available for several bus and tram lines, including lines 60, 62, 63, and 93, to ensure connectivity to the Stadtpark area.
