Maipú Mayor fined for Transparency Law violations

The Council for Transparency (CPLT) has imposed fines on Maipú Mayor Tomás Vodanovic and the former general secretary of the Municipal Corporation for Services and Development (CODEDUC) for violations of the Transparency Law.

Following a 2024 audit of municipal corporations, the CPLT identified multiple irregularities regarding active transparency obligations within CODEDUC. As a result, the Mayor, who also serves as the president of the CODEDUC board, was fined 25% of his remuneration, while the former general secretary received a fine of 20%. The Council rejected appeals for reconsideration in June 2026.
