Dominican Republic aviation infrastructure sees major construction progress
Aviation infrastructure in the Dominican Republic is seeing significant development. The new terminal at Cibao International Airport has reached 85% completion in its structure and gray work. Following this milestone, construction will shift toward roofing, installations, and interior space adaptation to prepare for its expected opening in mid-2027.
In Santo Domingo, Sky High Dominicana is constructing a new hangar at Las Américas International Airport (AILA). This facility, intended to be one of the largest in the Caribbean, will accommodate two aircraft simultaneously and utilize advanced technology to support the airline's regional expansion and maintenance capabilities.
