Maiquetía International Airport to implement temporary terminals
The Maiquetía International Airport Institute has announced details regarding the implementation of temporary terminals for passenger services. The setup includes two departure terminals and two arrival terminals, with specific areas designated for domestic and international flights. Facilities are intended to include air conditioning, Wi-Fi, waiting areas, vending machines, medical services, and charging stations. For departures, the domestic terminal covers over 3,300 m² with a capacity for 480 passengers, while the international departure terminal spans 4,400 m² with a capacity for 780 people.
Despite these logistical details, the Venezuelan Association of Travel and Tourism Agencies (Avavit) has noted a lack of information regarding which airlines will operate from these temporary terminals or what their specific itineraries will be. Avavit President Vicky Herrera de Díaz emphasized that the lack of clarity regarding airline operations is a concern for travel agencies and passengers, noting that flight commercialization requires advance planning to ensure traveler tranquility.
