Maiquetía International Airport undergoes runway rehabilitation
Structural rehabilitation works are progressing on the main runway (10L-28R) of Simón Bolívar International Airport in Maiquetía, Venezuela. The project aims to repair structural damage caused by an earthquake on June 24.
Operating under the government program ‘Plan Venezuela Renace’, the technical deployment involves heavy machinery for leveling, removing compromised asphalt layers, and applying high-resistance resurfacing designed to support large aircraft. Technical teams and aeronautical engineers are working continuous shifts to minimize disruptions to national and international flight schedules and to ensure operational safety meets international standards.
