Maira Duque announces candidacy for University of Los Andes Secretary

Maira Yadhira Duque Ramírez, a lawyer and Doctor of Law, has launched her candidacy for the Secretary position at the University of Los Andes (ULA). Her campaign is part of a democratic process to renew the university's authorities after the rectoral team's functions expired 15 years ago.

Duque, a native of La Grita, Táchira, leads the 'Consenso' team. Her platform focuses on restoring the university's conditions to ensure it remains a leading higher education institution in Venezuela. She currently serves as a professor in the School of Criminology at the ULA Faculty of Legal and Political Sciences.
