Maira Rocha investigated for alleged psychography fraud

Maira Rocha, a prominent medium and founder of the Casa de Caridade Inácio Daniel in Águas Claras, Brasília, is under investigation for allegedly forging psychographed letters. Investigations suggest that Rocha used information from open sources, police reports, and social media profiles to create fraudulent messages for grieving families.

Victims reported receiving letters containing text identical to old Facebook and Instagram posts. Some messages included disconnected information, such as references to the spirits of living people or invented names. In one instance, a medium reportedly claimed a deceased child's spirit requested a R$ 300,000 donation to her center.

The Brazilian Spiritist Federation (FEB) has advised the public to be cautious of mediums who request donations, emphasizing that spiritual work should be free of charge. Additionally, the FEB noted that spiritualism values questioning and that mediums should allow for doubts regarding their methods.
