Maison Margiela and Gentle Monster announce fourth collaboration

Maison Margiela and Gentle Monster have unveiled their fourth collaborative eyewear collection, scheduled for release on October 29. Centered on the theme of “Deconstruction,” the collection features 68 different styles, including 43 sunglasses and 25 optical frames.

The designs aim to reinterpret familiar shapes through processes of distortion and transformation. Key pieces include oversized eyewear with bold volumes and slim, sharp frames featuring leather-like “second skin” details. The collection incorporates Maison Margiela’s signature four white stitches on the temples.

A promotional campaign includes a short film by artist Alex Prager, set in a changing urban environment. To celebrate the launch, special pop-up spaces will open in eight cities worldwide. In Seoul, the event will feature a performance by choreographer and creative director Damien Jalet and artist Ian McMahon to express the concept of deconstruction through movement.
