Maite Kelly discusses past career as successful curvy model

Singer Maite Kelly shared details about her previous career as a successful curvy model in Europe during an appearance on Barbara Schöneberger’s podcast, ‘Frühstück bei Barbara’. Kelly noted that while she was highly sought after and among the best-paid curvy models in countries like England, her work remained largely unrecognized in Germany.

Kelly stated, “They wanted my body,” describing how her physical appearance was utilized for various campaigns. She emphasized that she has never defined herself by her looks and has faced criticism from comedians regarding her body.

Her modeling background eventually led to a long-term partnership with the brand Bonprix starting in 2010. This collaboration evolved from advertising roles into the creation of the ‘Maite Kelly Collection,’ a line of clothing specifically designed for plus-size women. Kelly noted that the collection was inspired by her own frustrations with the lack of appealing clothing options available for her body type.
