Maite Kelly discusses successful past career as curvy model

German Schlager singer Maite Kelly has revealed details about her previous career as a highly successful curvy model. During an appearance on Barbara Schöneberger’s podcast, “Frühstück bei Barbara,” Kelly shared that she was one of the best-paid curvy models in Europe, noting that while her work remained largely under the radar in Germany, she was in high demand internationally, including in England.

Kelly described her experience in the fashion industry, stating, “They wanted my body,” as an ideal curvy model. Her work in fashion extended beyond modeling; starting in 2010, she served as a brand ambassador for the fashion retailer bonprix and eventually designed her own clothing line, the “Maite Kelly Kollektion,” specifically tailored for women with larger body types.

Throughout her discussion, Kelly emphasized her self-confidence and noted that she has never defined herself by her appearance, stating, “Energy has nothing to do with clothing sizes.”
