Maite Pérez Quiroz runs unopposed for Podemos Castilla-La Mancha leadership

Maite Pérez Quiroz, a councilwoman from Mota del Cuervo, is the sole candidate to run in the Podemos primaries for the presidency of the Junta de Comunidades of Castilla-La Mancha. Her candidacy, titled ‘Podemos transformar Castilla-La Mancha’, includes 28 other individuals.

Following a period to correct potential errors, the party is expected to officially publish the definitive lists on October 2. This nomination marks a leadership change for the party in the region, as the 2023 candidate, José Luis García Gascón, has stepped down from the top position but expressed support for Pérez Quiroz.

This primary process is part of a broader effort by Podemos to select candidates for nine regional elections scheduled for next year, including Asturias, Canarias, Cantabria, Navarra, Comunidad Valenciana, Baleares, Región de Murcia, and the Comunidad de Madrid.
