Maitland City Council reaches agreement on East Maitland co-living project

Maitland City Council and developer Jubilee St Pty Ltd have reached an agreement through a section 34 conciliation process regarding a proposed 11-room co-living development at 5 Jubilee Street in East Maitland. The agreement involves amended terms for the proposal, which has now been submitted to the Land and Environment Court for review and approval by a commissioner.

The project was previously rejected by the council in June following significant public opposition. Local residents expressed concerns that the development was unsuitable for the character of Jubilee Street, which is home to parkland and community groups such as the Girl Guides and Scouts.
