Maja Chwalińska awarded Wimbledon wild card after French Open final

Polish tennis player Maja Chwalińska, a 24‑year‑old who reached the French Open final, was granted a wild card into the main draw of Wimbledon 2026. The All England Club announced the entry on 16 June, allowing her to bypass the qualifying rounds that she would have faced because the entry list closed while she was ranked 114. Her French Open run lifted her to world No. 21, making her the second‑highest‑ranked Polish player. The wild card also secures her a seeded position in the draw. Participation in the first round guarantees a prize of £80 000 (about 400 000 zł), with larger sums for each subsequent round, up to £3.6 million for the title. The tournament starts on 29 June and runs to 12 July.
