Maja Chwalińska's French Open run spotlights bond with Iga Świątek
Polish tennis player Maja Chwalińska, aged 25, reached the final of the 2026 French Open (Roland Garros) after entering the tournament ranked No. 114, advancing through three qualifying rounds and six main‑draw victories, including a semifinal win over Diana Sznajder. She will face Mirra Andriejewa in the final on 6 June, with the match broadcast on TVN, Eurosport and HBO Max.
During the Paris press conference Chwalińska spoke about her tennis idols, naming Roger Federer, Rafael Nadal and Novak Djokovic, and expressed gratitude for growing up watching them. She also reflected on her long‑standing friendship with fellow Polish star Iga Świątek, whom she has known since their early teens. Both players acknowledge that demanding schedules and extensive travel limit their time together, but they continue to support each other's achievements.
