British newspaper The Guardian named Polish tennis player Maja Chwalińska one of the symbols of the sport's summer, highlighting her run from world No. 114 and qualifier status to the final of the Roland Garros tournament – only the second qualifier ever to reach a final in the Open era. The coverage noted her unexpected advance, her lack of confidence compared with compatriot Iga Świątek, and the media attention she attracted.

Chwalińska later suffered an ankle injury during her first‑round match at Wimbledon, forcing her to withdraw from subsequent events in Romania and Germany.
