Majdov Judo Academy opens fifth edition in East Sarajevo with record attendance
The fifth Majdov Judo Academy was inaugurated in East Sarajevo, Bosnia and Herzegovina. Organized by Olympic judoka Nemanja Majdov and his family, the event attracted more than 1,000 participants, including 986 judokas, 83 coaches and 150 parents – a record for the academy’s five editions.
Guests came from 23 countries, and notable figures such as former Olympic champion Lukaš Krpalek, Olympic gold‑medalist Laša Bekauri, Nemanja’s father and coach Ljubiša Majdov, and Ivan Todorov – Serbia’s ambassador to Bosnia and Herzegovina and vice‑president of the European Judo Union – took part. Todorov officially opened the academy, emphasizing its role in teaching discipline, character and sportsmanship to young athletes.
The academy aims to nurture future European and world champions while promoting values of perseverance and respect among its participants.
