Major bridge construction on the Oder River nears completion

Construction of a new 633.6-meter bridge over the Oder River, connecting Grzegorzowice and Ciechowice, has exceeded 90 percent completion. The project, costing nearly 294 million PLN, is expected to open by the end of 2026, potentially ahead of its original January 2027 schedule.

The new structure will replace a ferry crossing that was frequently subject to closures due to water levels. Once operational, it will provide a year-round connection between the Silesian and Opole voivodeships, easing traffic congestion in Racibórz and improving regional communication.
