Major Deiby León López assumes command of Marinilla Police

Major Deiby León López has assumed command of the Marinilla Police Station and is in charge of District 5 in Antioquia, Colombia. His leadership follows previous assignments in municipalities such as Rionegro, Fredonia, Támesis, and Caucasia.

López intends to implement security strategies aimed at reducing crime and countering criminal actions in real time. His management is part of the ‘Juntos por Antioquia’ initiative, a collaborative program involving the National Police, the Marinilla Mayor's Office, the Attorney General's Office, and the CTI. The primary goals are to combat homicide, extortion, and theft.

Rather than simply increasing personnel, López emphasized optimizing existing institutional and administrative resources to achieve better results. The jurisdiction's coverage includes Marinilla and several surrounding municipalities, including El Peñol, Guatapé, San Rafael, San Carlos, El Santuario, Cocorná, and Granada. The institution noted that citizen reports and real-time information will be vital for accelerating raids and judicializing suspects.
