Major European museums host exhibitions of Cézanne, Gauguin, and Matisse

Several major art exhibitions featuring prominent post-impressionist masters are currently being held or scheduled across Europe.

In Paris, the Grand Palais is hosting ‘Cezanne et nous’, an exhibition running until January 17, 2027. Co-produced with the Centre Pompidou, Musée d’Orsay, and Musée de l’Orangerie, the showcase features 180 works that explore the influence of Paul Cézanne on subsequent generations of artists. Additionally, the Grand Palais has featured the gouaches of Henri Matisse, while the Petit Palais recently received a donation of sixty-one of his creations.

In Budapest, the Museum of Fine Arts will present ‘Bonjour Monsieur Gauguin !’ from October 30, 2026, to February 28, 2027. The exhibition includes 150 works, 80 of which are by Paul Gauguin, tracing his artistic circles from Pont-Aven to Tahiti.
